Sales Development Representative
About the role
Focal makes outdoor electric heaters for restaurant groups and hospitality operators. This SDR role offers real ownership in growing the company.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize restaurant groups, hotel operators, and hospitality venues matching our customer profile, starting in the Bay Area and expanding across California and beyond.
- Build out verified contact information for key decision-makers such as VP Operations, Facilities Director, GM, or Owner.
- Run personalized first-touch outreach through the right channel for each account, focusing on Bay Area-based outreach where appropriate.
- Book intro meetings and qualify prospects against our criteria before handing off to sales.
- Monitor signals for new restaurant construction and build activity, flagging early-stage opportunities.
- Log all activity and account status in CRM, ensuring records are clean and attribution is accurate.
- Create account briefs and context to support warm and informed handoffs to sales.
- Contribute to a consistent view of pipeline health and upcoming opportunities.
Requirements
- Comfortable initiating outreach without waiting to be introduced.
- Meticulous about research, ensuring outreach is based on thorough intel.
- A clear, concise writer who crafts personalized messages to elicit responses.
- Organized and self-directed, managing a full outreach cadence independently.
- Genuinely curious about the restaurant and hospitality scene in the Bay Area and beyond.
- Comfortable building processes in a scrappy, early-stage environment.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in an SDR, BDR, outbound sales, or similar role.
- CRM experience (e.g., Attio) helpful.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, enrichment tools (Apollo, ZoomInfo, Clearbit), or construction tracking tools is a plus.

Pay
Flat fee structure (not hourly) + variable compensation tied to qualified pipeline and meetings booked.
Schedule
Remote – Bay Area preferred. Start date immediate.
