Sales Consultant - Distributor - Phoenix, AZ
About the role
The Distributor Sales Consultant plays a crucial role in enhancing Allegion's market share for commercial hardware and electronic security solutions. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, this individual will work closely with distributors to drive sales and support business partner initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support business partner initiatives to maximize sales results.
- Cook up and execute strategies to generate demand and close orders.
- Participate in joint sales calls and training sessions.
- Attend local, regional, and national trade shows and association meetings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers, including peers in sales, marketing, engineering, customer and technical services, and operations.
- Collaborate with team members to position Allegion for closing deals, emphasizing a team-selling approach.
- Influence across a highly matrixed environment, aligning on goals.
- Partner with all customers to ensure complete satisfaction, commitment, and loyalty to Allegion products and services, leading to increased revenue.
- Adapt to changes in the marketplace, maintain CRM tool proficiency, and ensure proper customer and partner training on new and existing products.
- Maintain awareness of Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring compliance.
- Use social networking to stay updated on industry activity and build new relationships.
- Drive adoption of customer-facing tools for collaboration and integration into their business, including self-service options and Allegion’s portal.
- Be adept in using industry-specific software.
Requirements
- 5+ years of sales or industry experience; B2B sales experience preferred.
- High School Diploma required; Degree in Sales, Business, or Marketing is a plus.
- Outstanding communication and follow-up skills with a bias for action.
- Knowledge of the door, frame, and hardware industry or a parallel business is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
- Adept in using social networking to stay engaged in and up-to-date on industry activity.
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- No sponsorship for employment visas (e.g., H-1B, TN).
