About the Role
The Sales Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based at the Ashley Store in Liverpool, NY. This role involves greeting customers, learning about their needs and preferences, and guiding them through furniture and mattress selections that align with their style, budget, and lifestyle. Daily responsibilities include maintaining showroom standards, staying current on product knowledge, promotions, and financing options, and collaborating with team members to meet individual and store sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and learn about their needs and preferences.
- Guide customers through furniture and mattress selections that align with their style, budget, and lifestyle.
- Present product features and benefits, prepare quotes, and process sales transactions.
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Maintain showroom standards and stay current on product knowledge, promotions, and financing options.
- Collaborate with team members to meet individual and store sales goals.
- Participate in ongoing training and use provided tools and systems to track leads, manage customer information, and support a positive in-store experience.
Qualifications
- Strong sales consulting and customer service skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening and the ability to explain product features, pricing, and financing options.
- Prior retail sales or furniture industry experience is beneficial.
- Comfort working toward sales targets and incentive-based compensation.
- Ability to work on-site in Liverpool, NY, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand and move around the showroom throughout shifts.
- Basic computer skills for using point-of-sale systems and customer relationship tools.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong customer-focused mindset, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude are essential.
