About the Role

As a Sales Clerk Leader, you will assist customers with product selection, ensure a smooth shopping experience, and oversee daily operations of the sales department. You’ll play a key role in maintaining store efficiency, training staff, and supporting store management.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and assist with merchandise selection using strong product knowledge.
• Address customer concerns promptly and provide outstanding service.
• Oversee operations of the sales department, including ordering, receiving, pricing, and monitoring stock levels.
• Collaborate with store management on price changes, markdowns, promotional displays, and signage.
• Resolve special order requests and merchandise issues by communicating with headquarters staff.
• Train employees on cash register operations, front-end duties, and provide input on evaluations.
• Operate a cash register, process payments (cash, checks, credit cards), and prepare change funds.
• Verify and reconcile cash receipts, register tapes, and daily activity reports; investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain records of cash overages and shortages for each cashier.
• Ensure security and control of change funds, safes, and cash registers; act as a key carrier for store opening/closing.
• Supervise employees and manage overall store operations in the absence of management.
• Adhere to loss prevention policies, monitor shrink, and report issues via the Alert Line.
• Follow all safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior retail experience in inventory control and sales.
• Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds; stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating a cash register and knowledge of sales inventory systems.
• Previous retail supervisory experience.
• Current or former USCG NAF sales clerk with at least 6 months of experience.

Pay

$20.00/hour.

Schedule

Full-time, 30–40 hours per week.
