Sales Athlete- Outbound Business Development Representative

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact down-trending, inactive, and target accounts throughout the St. Louis market
  • Make 50–60 outbound calls per day to manufacturers, OEMs, maintenance departments, and industrial customers
  • Identify opportunities for industrial automation, motor control, VFDs, drives, PLCs, electrical components, repair services, and engineered solutions
  • Develop and grow a personal book of business through consistent prospecting and follow-up
  • Re-engage former customers and position State Motor & Control as a trusted industrial partner
  • Generate quotes, follow up on opportunities, and convert activity into sales growth
  • Utilize CRM tools and sales reporting systems to track pipeline activity and customer engagement
  • Work collaboratively with outside sales representatives, service teams, engineering groups, and supplier partners
  • Stay informed on market trends, local manufacturing activity, and competitor positioning
  • Maintain and exceed monthly activity and revenue goals

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in industrial automation, electrical distribution, motor control, or industrial sales preferred
  • Knowledge of industrial products including drives, motors, PLCs, controls, sensors, HMIs, and automation systems is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in the St. Louis industrial marketplace preferred
  • Strong phone presence and communication skills
  • Highly competitive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented personality
  • Ability to manage multiple customer relationships and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools preferred
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
