Sales Athlete- Outbound Business Development Representative

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively contact down-trending, inactive, and target accounts throughout the St. Louis market
- Make 50–60 outbound calls per day to manufacturers, OEMs, maintenance departments, and industrial customers
- Identify opportunities for industrial automation, motor control, VFDs, drives, PLCs, electrical components, repair services, and engineered solutions
- Develop and grow a personal book of business through consistent prospecting and follow-up
- Re-engage former customers and position State Motor & Control as a trusted industrial partner
- Generate quotes, follow up on opportunities, and convert activity into sales growth
- Utilize CRM tools and sales reporting systems to track pipeline activity and customer engagement
- Work collaboratively with outside sales representatives, service teams, engineering groups, and supplier partners
- Stay informed on market trends, local manufacturing activity, and competitor positioning
- Maintain and exceed monthly activity and revenue goals
Qualifications
- Prior experience in industrial automation, electrical distribution, motor control, or industrial sales preferred
- Knowledge of industrial products including drives, motors, PLCs, controls, sensors, HMIs, and automation systems is highly desirable
- Previous experience in the St. Louis industrial marketplace preferred
- Strong phone presence and communication skills
- Highly competitive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented personality
- Ability to manage multiple customer relationships and priorities simultaneously
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools preferred
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
