Sales Associate Power Equipment PT

Department: Retail Store | Reports to: Store Manager | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt | Position Type: Part-Time

About the Role

Sales associates work closely with customers to provide product knowledge, including features, warranties, special discounts, and additional details. They maintain the store’s visual appearance, manage displays, and stay updated on trends and competition. Associates build long-term customer relationships to meet sales goals and represent the store positively.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, determine their needs/wants, and recommend merchandise
• Advise customers on product utilization and care
• Answer customer questions or concerns promptly and friendly
• Stock and recover merchandise
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Operate pallet jacks and forklifts, as needed
• Ensure proper signage is in place throughout assigned department
• Use computers to check prices and inventories
• Assist with inventory preparation
• Create special orders, as needed
• Maintain safety awareness of hazards for employees or customers
• Handle customer complaints, questions, or concerns professionally
• Bring in carts from outside
• Perform additional duties, as assigned
