About the role

This position is based at Store 01271 in Norwalk, CT (06854) and is regular part-time.

Pay

$17.44 - $21.80 hourly USD

What you'll do

  • Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships
  • Assist the management team to build store business
  • Service multiple customers at a time, multitask, and handle projects simultaneously
  • Stay aware of fashion trends and product knowledge, including fit, color, and new arrivals
  • Use fashion expertise to create outfits and suggest items to match customer needs
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships that support a productive environment
  • Communicate store information, brand initiatives, and discrepancies to management
  • Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas, including Talbots Classic Awards
  • Maximize individual performance through learning opportunities, coaching, and feedback
  • Support operational excellence, including inventory management, filling orders, recalls, recovery, replenishment, and re-tickets
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to meet customer and business needs
  • Lead or supervise others on occasion, including opening or closing the store
  • Understand customer needs and wants through intentional conversation

Requirements

  • Capable of creating a selling culture where associates align around customer needs
  • Customer-centric mentality with a focus on exceptional customer experiences
  • Driven to build and cultivate relationships
  • Strong ambition and passion for achieving individual and team goals
  • Passionate about selling and maximizing store traffic
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and high integrity
  • Able to work cooperatively in a diverse environment
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, moving regularly, and standing for extended periods
  • Able to bend, reach, stretch, and lift or move at least 40 lbs
  • Technological aptitude to navigate POS, computer, iPad, and handheld systems
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
