SALES ASSOCIATE - GARDEN (PART-TIME)

You will assist customers, help them recognize the need for our products and services, and articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. Responsibilities

• Customer Service
  • Proactively engage and connect with customers by asking questions and listening to their needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and loyalty programs.
  • Provide premier customer service and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
  • Take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
• Organization
  • Maintain store appearance.
• Sales
  • Cross-sell products and know the store layout.
  • Make personalized suggestions based on customer needs, trends, and promotions.
  • Upsell products and stay updated on product features and trends.
  • Use a Point-of-Sale system to process transactions, including cash, discounts, gift cards, credit/debit cards, and handle cash accurately.
  • Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation tasks.
• Inventory
  • Manage merchandise, complete inventory processes, and ensure accurate ticketing.
  • Participate in periodic inventories as needed.
• Dependability
  • Adhere to your assigned work schedule and follow through on work assignments accurately and completely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Product Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of products/merchandise.
• Communication Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents (e.g., safety rules, operating instructions).
  • Effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
  • Proper telephone etiquette.
• Mathematical Skills
  • Basic math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to multitask while remaining attentive to customers.
  • Flexibility to adapt to business needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently.
• Physical Demands
  • Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, and grabbing.
  • Standing for at least two consecutive hours.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
  • Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Lifting at least 25 lbs, and up to 50 lbs in some departments.
• Work Environment
  • Work is typically performed indoors but may occasionally be assigned outdoors depending on location.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Schedule

Part-time (20 - 34.5 hours per week). Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
