Sales Associate/Customer Service - Pump & Pantry

About the role

Serve customers in a professional, quick, and courteous manner while complying with all food handling guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at work in a clean and proper uniform, and maintain a clean and neat appearance.
• Greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Understand and perform all functions of the POS system.
• Make change accurately and process sales quickly.
• Open and close shifts, including completing all required paperwork.
• Use credit card equipment and process transactions accurately.
• Ensure all items are properly stocked and priced correctly.
• Read and follow directions for tasks and procedures.
• Check in vendor deliveries and assist in ordering.
• Understand fuel inventory reports.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, perform simple maintenance, and keep the store neat inside and outside.
• Recognize problems and report them to management.
• Maintain a positive attitude and project professionalism.
• Handle all aspects of food operations, including storage, preparation, and compliance with food handling guidelines.
• Follow proper cooking procedures and maintain temperature controls to meet or exceed state/federal regulations.
• Ensure food products are stored properly, rotated, code-dated, and held at proper temperatures.
• Perform temperature testing to ensure food safety and quality control.
• Provide friendly and competent customer service.
• Report to work on time with regular and consistent attendance.
• Assist in other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Retail or guest service experience preferred.
• Able to work the POS system efficiently.
• Ability to read, write, and perform math skills.
• Positive, enthusiastic attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Flexible and able to adapt to change.
• Well-groomed and properly attired.
• Able to work holidays, weekends, and any shift as needed.
• Reliable transportation and phone.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
• Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.

Physical Requirements

• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Required to stand for long periods of time.
• Frequent walking, use of hands and fingers, handling or feeling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing.
• Occasional sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
