Sales Associate/Customer Service - Pump & Pantry

About the role

Serve customers in a professional, quick, and courteous manner while complying with all food handling guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at work in a clean and proper uniform, and maintain a clean and neat appearance.
• Greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Understand and perform all functions of the POS system.
• Make change accurately and process all sales quickly and correctly.
• Open and close shifts, including completing all required paperwork.
• Use credit card equipment.
• Ensure all items are properly stocked and priced correctly.
• Read and follow directions.
• Check in vendor deliveries and assist in ordering.
• Understand fuel inventory reports.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, and perform simple maintenance.
• Keep the store neat and clean, inside and outside.
• Recognize problems and report them to management.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Handle all aspects of food operations, including storage and handling of product, while complying with state/federal food handling guidelines.
• Ensure a clean and healthy food service environment by following proper cooking procedures and temperature holding guidelines.
• Store, rotate, and code date all food products, ensuring proper temperatures for both cooked and stored items.
• Perform temperature testing of food to ensure proper food safety and quality control.
• Provide friendly and competent customer service.
• Report to work on time and maintain regular, consistent attendance.
• Assist in other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Retail or guest service experience preferred.
• Able to work the POS system efficiently.
• Ability to read, write, and perform math skills.
• Positive, enthusiastic attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to change when required.
• Well-groomed and properly attired.
• Able to work holidays, weekends, and any shift as needed.
• Reliable transportation and phone.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
• Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
