About the role

The Certified Color Consultant at Sally Beauty is responsible for maximizing sales and building strong relationships with DIY enthusiasts. This role focuses on driving brand awareness and hair color market share through effective selling behaviors and customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide an optimal customer experience to ensure successful hair color goals are achieved.
• Introduce customers to the Hair Color category and provide color consultations.
• Elevate Sally Beauty as the leader in hair color by utilizing selling behaviors, company sales directives, and omni-channel strategies.
• Create customer retention by delivering behaviors that drive desired client survey scores and reviews.
• Determine customer color and care needs and offer professional advice and recommendations.
• Generate cross-category sales by introducing new categories during conversations.
• Record all sales in the POS system and handle monetary transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Complete daily paperwork and reporting, and make bank deposits when necessary.
• Price merchandise, process back stock, assist with shipment processing, and perform housekeeping duties.
• Support with planograms as needed.
• May open and close the store.
• Establish technical expertise in products, policies, and programs.
• Complete all training programs as directed.
• Be a continuous learner to stay current on industry trends.
• Collaborate with a wide range of customers and co-workers.
• Assist the Store Manager with onboarding and training needs of new associates.
• Mentor other associates to enhance hair color knowledge.
• Advocate for diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
• Comply with safety and loss prevention policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• One year of retail sales/customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers, co-workers, and management.
• Availability to meet the business's scheduling needs.
• Ability to execute product knowledge from training to support customer service.
• Ability to explain product labels.
• Ability to follow directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
• Comprehensive knowledge of iPad and internet/social media platforms.
• Able to present a professional image and interact positively with the public.
