About the role

The Rescue Mission is seeking a Part-time Sales Associate II (Key Holder) who will work 29 hours per week. This position involves assisting store management with running an efficient and service-oriented store, promoting the Rescue Mission, building customer relationships, and providing customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Displays, promotes, sizes, prices, and tags merchandise.
  • Aids store management in running an efficient and service-oriented store.
  • Greet customers with a smile and provide information and answer questions.
  • Opens and closes the store in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager.
  • Cash reconciles at the end of shifts in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager.
  • Stocks shelves, counters, racks, and tables as needed.
  • Sets up displays and informs customers about special sales.
  • Processes cash, checks, sales discounts, and credit cards.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the store.
  • Contributes positively to the team by displaying a team attitude.
  • Ensures a safe environment by complying with procedures and policies.
  • Assists in identifying, reporting, and solving issues to the store management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED certificate
  • 1-3 years retail experience preferred
  • Previous customer-service experience
  • Previous cash register and reconciliation experience preferred
  • Emotionally mature and able to handle stress professionally and in public
  • Ability to work in an unsupervised atmosphere
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and days
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Manages time efficiently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Standing for long periods of time, visual checking of color-coded racks, sizing by number, bending, and lifting may be required
