About the role
The Rescue Mission is seeking a Part-time Sales Associate II (Key Holder) who will work 29 hours per week. This position involves assisting store management with running an efficient and service-oriented store, promoting the Rescue Mission, building customer relationships, and providing customer service.
Responsibilities
- Displays, promotes, sizes, prices, and tags merchandise.
- Aids store management in running an efficient and service-oriented store.
- Greet customers with a smile and provide information and answer questions.
- Opens and closes the store in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager.
- Cash reconciles at the end of shifts in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager.
- Stocks shelves, counters, racks, and tables as needed.
- Sets up displays and informs customers about special sales.
- Processes cash, checks, sales discounts, and credit cards.
- Maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the store.
- Contributes positively to the team by displaying a team attitude.
- Ensures a safe environment by complying with procedures and policies.
- Assists in identifying, reporting, and solving issues to the store management.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED certificate
- 1-3 years retail experience preferred
- Previous customer-service experience
- Previous cash register and reconciliation experience preferred
- Emotionally mature and able to handle stress professionally and in public
- Ability to work in an unsupervised atmosphere
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and days
- Customer-service oriented
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Manages time efficiently
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Standing for long periods of time, visual checking of color-coded racks, sizing by number, bending, and lifting may be required
