Sales Associate
We are looking for part-time sales associates who are enthusiastic, energetic, friendly, and hard-working!
About the role
The Sales Associate is responsible for providing exemplary selling and customer service that improves the productivity and profitability of the store. You will provide customers with product recommendations and solutions, serve as a role model of best-practice retail execution, and focus on sales, service, and relationship-building at all times. Inventory management, product sets, stocking, housekeeping, and stockroom duties are also part of the role. You will work closely with the corporate store team and report directly to the Store Manager.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a warm, inviting, easy-to-navigate shopping environment.
- Build and share expertise on products, promotions, services, and brand rewards programs—customized to shopper needs, relationships, and occasions.
- Help customers find the perfect card and gift solutions for their missions of caring and connecting.
- Share and showcase stories of caring to reinforce the cycle of kindness.
- Handle store operations, including product replenishment, merchandising, ringing sales, processing shipments, managing inventory, fulfilling online orders, and curbside deliveries.
- Deliver an exceptional shopping experience that leaves customers inspired, enabled, affirmed, and eager to return.
- Work as a team to meet store sales goals by ensuring customers leave with everything they need—and a few things they didn’t know they needed.
- Uphold all company policies and practices.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including backroom, front of store, and bathroom maintenance.
- Complete other duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- If under 18, must meet work permit requirements (if applicable).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including events, holidays, evenings, and weekends.
- Proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Continuously stand/walk, push/pull, lift/carry up to 10 pounds, and use fine finger movement (e.g., keyboard operation, writing).
- Frequently bend at the waist, climb/work at heights (e.g., step ladders), kneel, squat, lift/carry up to 40 pounds, and reach overhead.
- Occasionally balance on uneven surfaces, lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Rarely drive or travel, lift/carry up to 75 pounds, or sit for extended periods.
- Continuously communicate with customers, co-workers, and vendors in-person or over the phone (speaking, hearing, and sight).
- Exposure to dust, cleaning agents, truck exhaust, inadequate lighting, noise, scents (e.g., candles, lotions), outdoor work, and heights in the stockroom or on the sales floor.
Schedule
This is a regular, part-time, hourly position averaging 6–20 hours per week, not to exceed 28 hours per week.
