Sales Assoc/Material Handler - Wahiawa

About The Role

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program designed to assist men and women in completing their rehabilitation programs. We appreciate the contributions of our valued employees who help maintain and enhance the effectiveness of our programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all customers and donors' needs are met with a genuine greeting and prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items ready to be merchandised on the sales floor.
• Aid in maintaining the store and donation areas, keeping them clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned by management.
• Follow all POS/Cash Register policies in accordance with TSA policies and procedures.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend required Monthly Store Meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently.
• Inspect products for defects and damages and provide quality assurance.
• Courteously assist donors in removing donated items from their vehicles and provide receipts.
• Separate and sort donated materials into the proper containers and stack them as instructed by management.
• Perform other written and/or verbal duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Pass background check, which includes a criminal history and sex offender registry check.
• Effective communication skills with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Physical Demands

• Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Perform various repetitive motion tasks.
• Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule

Stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by management and associates must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Part-time associates may be scheduled to work any part-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and any contractual obligations relative to COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff, if required. Exemptions from such requirements will be considered on a religious or medical basis when available.
