Responsibilities

  • Work on multiple complex tax engagements
  • Contribute to the delivery of innovative sales and use tax planning ideas for diverse clients
  • Manage and mentor a team of sales and use tax professionals
  • Lead projects and teams in complex Indirect tax audits, managed audits, and recovery of tax overpayments (reverse audits)
  • Prepare complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries
  • Identify and analyze complex tax issues for a variety of entities and their affiliates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA, CMI, or JD
  • 5+ years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm, tax services firm, or similar industry
  • Experience with a focus on indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff
  • Strong relationship management and practice development skills
  • Proven ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in tax software and tools

Benefits

At Weaver, we offer a competitive compensation range of $120,000 to $175,000 in the California and New York Metropolitan areas, based on a variety of factors including experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location.
