Sales and Proposal Manager – Electrics & Automation Long Product

Remote position with ability to travel required (approximately 25-40% for customer and supplier visits or internal company meetings).

About the Role

The Manager EA Sales and Proposal Long Products is responsible for marketing and selling all of the company’s Long Products Electrics & Automation products in the Americas Region (North and South America), providing aftermarket support in the form of service and revamp proposals, and representing the company’s interests in general.

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Sales Managers, Engineering Department, and Automation Department, determine which references will be used for equipment and cost.
  • Manage proposal writing and editing.
  • Manage sales calls and attend sales functions as required.
  • Coordinate projects with team members during the proposal stage.
  • Coordinate engineering work for proposal preparation.
  • Prepare and edit cost estimates for proposed projects.
  • Deliver technical presentations of proposals to prospective customers.
  • Present SMS group technology to prospective customers.
  • Contact and coordinate with main vendors for proposal purposes.
  • Handle inter-departmental or inter-company contacts concerning proposals.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategy for Americas region customers, including customer communications and visits.
  • Identify potential projects (new equipment and aftermarket), select appropriate technologies, and develop technical and commercial specifications.
  • Project management of the company’s Americas Region Direct Service contracts, including customer and supplier liaison.
  • Provide customer support and liaison for the company’s domestic references.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise up to 3 Sales and Proposal Engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Mechatronics).
  • 5 years’ experience working with Industrial Automation (supplier or end user).
  • Experience in Section/Rail Mills and/or Bar and Wire mills is required.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, with a strong emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but can be loud or very loud at times.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
