Responsibilities
- Maintain and/or improve the occupancy level and revenue production of the community in accordance with marketing and business plans, including completing sales calls and closing sales.
- Develop and maintain relationships with residents, family, and professional referral sources to generate leads.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement monthly prospect and/or referral source activities and events.
- Partner with Regional Sales management to develop and execute marketing plans and achieve community occupancy goals.
- Supervise the activities of at least two Full-time Equivalent (FTE) Marketing Coordinator(s) and/or Sales Counselor(s) to achieve desired results.
- Close sales by assisting prospective residents, their family members, and/or advisors in the decision-making process by understanding their needs and educating them about services and programs.
- Respond promptly to every telephone call or in-person inquiry from all referral sources, prospective residents, and families.
- Utilize sales processes, systems, and forms for external and internal sales to track information, compile data and reports, and achieve occupancy goals.
- Complete outside Business Development sales calls to meet or exceed established goals for professional leads per week.
- Develop and maintain relationships with professional referral sources, including legal and financial professionals, senior organizations, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and others.
- Provide information and conduct presentations about services, market advantages, and availability to meet the needs of prospective referral sources and community groups.
- Follow up and execute sales processes with all leads from events.
- Research and provide recommendations for content and delivery of marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and press releases.
- Adhere to procedures in the development of advertising materials by working with Brookdale’s Creative Services group.
- Monitor conversion ratios regarding Business Development calls to direct referrals, prospect calls, and tours; collect and analyze data to prepare weekly and monthly reports.
- Provide frequent sales performance information to Regional Sales management.
- Maintain working knowledge of the lead management system and use it to maximize sales effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum of five years of sales experience, preferably in the retirement industry, medical, or pharmaceutical sales, with a proven track record of generating and closing a high percentage of qualified leads.
- Frequent car travel requires possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of sales and marketing principles, including marketing strategy, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations and state regulations impacting service delivery.
- Proficiency in operating personal computers and related software; experience with contact management databases, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
- Ability to manage time, tasks, and projects effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust, assess customer needs, and work effectively with diverse personalities.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

To support associates in their journey to become a U.S. citizen, Brookdale offers to advance fees for naturalization (Form N-400) application costs, up to $725, for qualified associates who have been with the company for at least a year. Pay
Base pay is determined by applicant’s skills and experience. The role is also eligible for monthly and quarterly commission opportunities. Temporary associates are not benefits-eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.
Schedule
- Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to ensure shift coverage.
