Sales and Management Intern

This position aims to fulfill our mission statement, "to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests." Interns perform various sales, merchandising, and operational tasks under the guidance of store management.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide exceptional service.
  • Answer questions about the store and merchandise, recommend and assist with selecting and fitting items.
  • Help Guests try on or fit merchandise, check out and bag purchases, and prepare merchandise for alterations.
  • Keep up-to-date with current sales and promotions, policies regarding payments and exchanges, and security practices.
  • Achieve and exceed sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
  • Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise.
  • Maintain and build good Guest relationships to foster a client-based business.
  • Contribute to a positive store culture by maintaining high standards, recognizing recruiting opportunities, and participating in visual merchandising.
  • Work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Follow Loss Prevention guidelines and report any security risks or incidents.
  • Manage a product category, set sales goals, educate teammates, and track results.
  • Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of required assignments.
  • Complete Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
  • Develop recruiting, merchandising, and leadership skills.
  • Lead and motivate the team by tracking specific department or company tools through Performance Tracker.
  • Communicate any policy violations or teammate/Guest concerns to appropriate managers and HR.
  • Provide feedback to Store Manager and Leadership Team regarding merchandise handling concerns.
  • Understand and apply the Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all Buckle’s policies, procedures, and handbooks.

Internship Duties

  • Complete Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
  • Develop an understanding of Buckle’s products, sales presentation, and merchandising process.
  • Lead and motivate the team by tracking the specific department or company tool through Performance Tracker.
  • Develop recruiting, merchandising, and leadership skills.
  • Participate in monthly conference calls.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for all required assignments within the Internship.
  • Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
