Sales Account Manager, Academic Research Services

About the role
The Sales Account Manager drives and supports sales efforts in the Central US Territory for Academic customers by implementing sales and marketing strategies for GenScript's custom life science services. This role uses scientific and business knowledge, including corporate contacts, to develop profitable initiatives and build sales. The ideal candidate resides in either Texas or St. Louis, MO.
Responsibilities
- Work with Regional Sales Managers and Technical Solution Managers to grow and develop an assigned sales territory.
- Promote GenScript's custom life science service lines and achieve sales goals for the assigned territory.
- Spend 50% of time on account management, quote and lead follow-up, and 50% traveling for customer visits and virtual meetings to build relationships and meet sales goals.
- Develop and implement territory sales strategies for services, new markets, and applications.
- Work cross-functionally to secure business in a competitive environment.
- Understand customer research applications and match GenScript’s services with their project requirements.
- Share market knowledge with Sales, TAM, and Marketing teams through weekly field feedback reports.
- Introduce GenScript to new academic researchers.
Requirements
- Strong scientific background: Bachelor's degree or above in life science or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in scientific or life science sales.
- Knowledge of the Biological and CRO or CDMO market or general biotech industry, with preference for experience in Gene Synthesis, Protein, Peptide, Bioassays, Antibody, and Cell Line Products/Services.
- Lab experience preferred.
- Ability to operate effectively in an international business environment.

Pay
Estimated salary range: $80,000 - $90,000, based on experience level.
