Sales Account Management, Sr Director
About the role
You are someone who drives growth through ecosystem partnerships and strategic deals. You will work closely with product management, engineering, sales leadership, and executive teams to develop long-term business opportunities in high-growth segments such as AI compute, chiplets, automotive silicon, mobile platforms, and hyperscale infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of technology strategy, partnerships, and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute business development strategy for Synopsys' semiconductor IP portfolio across AI compute, chiplets, automotive silicon, mobile platforms, and hyperscale infrastructure
- Structure and negotiate strategic licensing agreements, joint development partnerships, and ecosystem collaborations with semiconductor companies, hyperscalers, automotive suppliers, and system OEMs
- Develop executive relationships with foundries, packaging providers, and platform vendors to expand IP adoption
- Work with product management and engineering to align IP roadmap with market demand and customer requirements
- Evaluate new vertical markets including AI/ML accelerators, automotive ADAS, IoT, data center processors, and edge computing
- Represent Synopsys in industry consortia and standards bodies, delivering market insights to executive leadership
- Partner with sales leadership to support strategic account engagement and complex enterprise deals
Requirements
- 15+ years in semiconductor, EDA, or semiconductor IP with proven experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or technology strategy
- Track record structuring and negotiating complex technology licensing or partnership agreements that drove measurable revenue or market expansion
- Deep understanding of SoC design, semiconductor ecosystems, and IP licensing models
- Strong industry network across semiconductor companies, hyperscalers, and automotive chip suppliers with executive-level access
- Experience driving new revenue streams and strategic market expansion
- Experience with interface IP such as PCIe, DDR, USB, SerDes, processor IP, or security IP is a plus
- MBA or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Business is a plus
Qualifications
- You can translate a technical product conversation into a partnership structure that makes sense for both engineering and business
- You know how to structure deals differently for a hyperscaler building custom silicon versus an automotive supplier licensing standard IP
- You operate comfortably in ambiguity, working with incomplete roadmaps and shifting customer requirements while still closing deals
- You bring market intelligence back to the company that shapes product strategy, not just deal updates
