About the role

CBS 17 (WNCN) is seeking a Multi-Platform Account Executive to join our dynamic team. Based in Raleigh, Durham, and Fayetteville, we cover breaking news, weather, sports, and community stories across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Sell TV and digital marketing solutions to help local and regional businesses grow.
  • Build relationships with direct clients and agencies in the Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville market.
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospect, pitch, close, launch, optimize, recap, and track activity in CRM.
  • Create big, creative, results-driven ideas and collaborate with digital, marketing, and production teams to bring them to life.
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills, able to present to decision-makers confidently.
  • Negotiate and structure agreements that meet client goals and station revenue targets.
  • Stay curious about evolving media trends and keep learning about streaming, creators, measurement, AI tools, etc.
  • Collaborate across sales, digital, creative services, traffic, and finance to ensure campaigns launch smoothly and deliver strong results.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, advertising, media, marketing, or business development (TV/digital experience is a plus).
  • Competitive, self-motivated, and organized with a passion for goals and wins.
  • Able to think strategically and sell solutions rather than just spots.
  • Comfortable using tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and CRM systems.
  • A team-first attitude with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience selling CTV/streaming, programmatic, paid social, or paid search is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Local market knowledge in Raleigh/Durham/ChapelHill/Cary/Fayetteville and surrounding counties.

  • Proficiency in CRM and other relevant software.
