About the Role

Sale Day Drivers help move cars through the auction lanes during the car auction. This role involves driving vehicles across the block while adhering to safety guidelines, staging and parking vehicles in designated areas, and reporting any breakdowns or maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive vehicles across the auction block following all safety guidelines, including wearing a seatbelt, placing the vehicle in park or neutral when stopping, and following the ADESA wedge.
  • Safely move, stage, and park vehicles in the correct lot area.
  • Advise supervisor or lane captain of all breakdowns and maintenance needs immediately.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Operate motor vehicles safely with conservative, cautious, and courteous driving habits.
  • Immediately report to a manager or supervisor any incidents that may affect the ability to physically or legally operate a motor vehicle.
  • Report all driving-related incidents, including traffic citations, warnings, accidents, or mechanical problems, whether on or off the job.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in any weather conditions.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English (reasonable accommodations will be made for disabilities).

Physical Demands

  • Physical activity ranges from light to medium physical work.
  • Frequent standing, watching, touching, listening, walking, and talking.
  • Potential for running, jumping, or rapid movement in emergency situations.
  • Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision comparable to clerical, administrative, or machine operator positions.

Working Conditions

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, including temperature changes, weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, and dust associated with service stations and vehicle operations.

Pay

$18.50–$18.75 hourly

Schedule

One day per week: Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (approximately).
