SAI - Park Operations Supervisor
About the role
The Park Operations Supervisor is a seasonal/temporary full-time position at Sheet'ká Rainforest Park, working through October 31, 2026. This role ensures smooth operations, guest experiences, and food service, while supporting staff and managing facility maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth daily operations of Sheet'ká Salmon Tales and Sheet'ká Rainforest Park (excluding Treetop Adventures).
- Support seasonal staff and ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards.
- Create weekly team schedules to meet operational demands within resource limits.
- Address operational issues, guest concerns, and staffing needs as they arise.
- Perform and oversee maintenance, repair, and upkeep of structures, equipment, vehicles, trails, signage, and visitor facilities.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operations.
- Build, install, and maintain park infrastructure, exhibits, and other site improvements.
- Help coordinate larger repair and construction projects with contractors and vendors when necessary.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Maintain grounds, trails, landscaping, parking areas, gathering spaces, and other public areas.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and promptly address hazards.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and operational standards.
- Maintain safety records and support emergency procedures training with staff.
- Oversee operational readiness of the Sheet'ká Salmon Tales food trailer.
- Assist with food, beverage, and supply inventory including ordering and receiving shipments.
- Support food preparation, service, and point-of-sale operations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Purchase operational materials, supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Represent Sheet'ká Rainforest Park and Sheet'ká Salmon Tales professionally with guests, partners, and community members.
- Support the park’s mission of sharing the cultural heritage, stories, and traditions of Southeast Alaska.
- Ensure all guest experiences reflect authenticity, respect, and exceptional hospitality.
Requirements
- Minimum Candidate Requirements: Candidate must be able to work for any employer in the United States without work sponsorship. Must have ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Knowledge of Alaska Indigenous culture, Southeast Alaska, outdoor recreation, and tourism.
- Valid Alaska driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete projects according to urgency and required timelines.
- Organizational, Communication, and Problem-solving Skills.
- Candidate must have Food Protection Manager Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- 3+ years of combined experience with the following: Operations, hospitality, tourism, facilities management, construction, maintenance, or related fields.
- General maintenance, construction, or mechanical systems experience preferred.
Desired Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Understanding of current site operations and previous experience at Sheet'ká Rainforest Park preferred.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with inventory management, purchasing, and vendor coordination preferred.

Work Environment
This is an in-person position in an office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and clients (100%). Occasional business travel may be required. Only requested and approved expenses will be covered by SAI.
