Safety Trainer
About the role
Transdev is hiring Safety Trainers at our WMATA location. We are looking for customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and/or behind-the-wheel training to new operators or re-training of current operators.
- May provide other training to location personnel.
- Tracks attendees and maintains training documentation based on regulations and company policy.
- While the focus is on driver training, employee may also have other safety program responsibilities (e.g., accident investigation, forms compliance, safety meetings).
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 - 3 years training experience.
- 1 - 3 years transportation, safety or related experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding safety.
- Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, & Powerpoint.
- Good verbal, written, and communication skills.

Physical Demands
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions, work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday;
- Lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance;
- Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level;
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job;
- Tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
