About the role
This position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Assists with safety training for faculty, staff and students.
- Affirms facilities, work areas and equipment to include but not limited to verifying campus fume hood functionalities and testing safety showers and eye washes on campus.
- Congratulates and verifies biosafety cabinet certifications.
- Populates departmental database and generates reports as needed.
- May provide support services to handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials, as needed.
- Performs respiratory fit-testing.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.
- MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED.
- Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
