Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a location resource to AC/CCSWB front line organization regarding AC/CCSWB policies, KORE Safety Policies, Federal, State and Local regulations, related to Safety standards and procedures to achieve a zero-incident workplace.
- Lead and/or facilitate location strategic and tactical teams.
- Perform Safety Audits within all Market Unit locations and report results to MU leadership team & Safety Department.
- Partner with local management to identify and implement corrective actions during safety audits, self-inspections, investigations, etc.
- Attend, facilitate and support Safety Committees within each designated MU location.
- Assist in defining, obtaining, coordinating and maintaining necessary safety reports, permits, communications and safety self-assessments for each designated MU location.
- Provide coverage as necessary and according to business demand to include working overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts (days and times).
- Lead and/or facilitate AC/CCSWB Safety training matrix and post corrective training up to and including developing/facilitating training for drivers, warehouse, fleet and support associates at each designated MU location.
- Assist in coordinating fire drills and other emergency drills.
- Involv line organization personnel to address day-to-day health and safety concerns.
- Assist the safety SPOC’s and Safety Champions with their Safety programs.
- Update health and safety postings, bulletin boards and safety communications with assistance from the SPOC’s, Safety Champions or Safety Specialist.
- Prepare Safety toolbox topics as needed.
- Complete hazard assessments
- Assist Safety Specialist and/or Safety Department with various projects up to and including other duties as assigned.
- Evaluation of all CMV and Non-CMV drivers for compliance with CCSWB policies.
- Completion of a DOT road test prior to allowing drivers to operate a CMV for CCSWB.
- Truck Jockey Training for warehouse associates that move vehicles.
- CMV and Non-CMV training, which includes: (Pre/Post Trip, Backing Skills, Road Skills, etc.)
- Responsible for completing and maintaining Driver Qualification Files (CMV & Non-CMV drivers).
- Provide training on how to perform both the pre-trip and post-trip for CCSWB vehicles, and reporting needed repairs.
- Provide HOS Log / ELD training. (FMCSA Standards)
- Monitoring and auditing Hours of Service and DVIR’s to meet state & federal compliance regulations.
- Provide safety training for equipment used for daily activities, (Liftgate, cool-lifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Conduct IRC meetings (accident reviews) and facilitate IRC calls to help develop a better safety culture.
- Review JHA as part of IRC meetings to make sure all hazards are evaluated and minimize the risk.
- Review HOS violations on the weekly report and follow up with remedial instruction.
- Review near miss and violation events identified by Driver Cameras and follow up with targeted driver instruction.
- Ensure coaching is completed by supervisors for identified events in the Driver Camera system.
- Provide reports and actions to business leaders to include, but not limited to the following: Driver Cameras, HOS, Driver Qualification Files, Incident Claims Tracker, Audits, etc.
- Safety Technicians will notify Safety and HR of any associates that are a safety concern.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience as a CDL qualified CMV driver.
- Successful Completion of OSHA 10-hour General Industry Certification, Equivalent or Higher Designation/Education.
- 1-2 years Safety Experience or related discipline required.
- Zero preventable accidents in the previous 36 months.
- Zero motor vehicle violations in the previous 36 months.
- Maintains FMCSA compliance with CDL, HOS, Roadside Inspections, and Pre/Post Trip inspections.
- Good work history free of attendance and/or disciplinary issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Analyse training needs and give feedback to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skill, and ability in the following areas: Sales Merchandising, Driver merchandising, Cooler Movers, Field Service, Full Service, and Transport / Bulk functions.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills to include, but not limited to the following; Word, Excel, and Power Point.
