About the Role
Under the direction of a Principal or Designee, supervise activities of students or children during assigned hours at assigned locations. May also provide childcare coverage during breaks for paraeducators and/or during school activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students in an assigned area, inside or outside, guiding their routine activities of eating, playing, and other functions; monitor and control behavior of students according to approved procedures; report student behavior to teacher(s), administrator, and/or assigned staff.
- Assist with light cleaning after the student’s lunch and/or student activities.
- Supervise students at play, directing play activities and the use of play equipment; report cases of unusual behavior or other problems to appropriate teacher or site manager; prevent children from engaging in unsafe activities; ensure student safety in the crosswalks.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining an environment that stimulates growth of desirable social, emotional, and health habits; observe and report safety hazards.
- Assist students by providing proper emotional and behavior support, promoting a friendly attitude, positive school climate, and general guidance.
- Monitor compliance of site safety procedures.
- May supervise children while their parents are attending classes or workshops.
- May supervise children while school staff is on a break.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum six (6) months experience working with students.
- TB clearance (required prior to hire).
- Fingerprint Clearance (required prior to hire).
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
- Two letters of recommendation from current or previous supervisors (dated within the last 12 months).
Pay
Pay Range: $17.90 - $17.90 per hour (Classified Salary Schedule: $17.90 Step 19 (A-C)).
Schedule
180 days per year / up to 3.75 hours per day (split shift). Employment Type: Part Time.
