About the role
As a Safety Supervisor at School Bus Yard Operations in Shawnee, KS, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of the school bus operations. Your primary focus will be on supervising yard activities, conducting safety inspections, and enforcing safety protocols.Responsibilities
- Supervise yard activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of school buses and related equipment.
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Train and mentor staff members on safety best practices.
- Develop and implement safety improvement plans based on inspection findings.
- Collaborate with other departments to address safety concerns and improve overall operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, transportation, safety) or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a similar industry.
- Proven ability to manage and train a team effectively.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in school bus operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certifications preferred.
