Responsibilities

  • Assists in providing OSHA, HAZMAT, HAZWASTE, and other related EHS training to employees.
  • Aid in collecting shipping and coordinating samples for analysis.
  • Note: If required to certify and ship Hazmat Material, upgrade to SA-4 Hazmat Certifier/Shipper.
  • Aid in HW operations, preparing proper documents and shipment of hazardous waste from "cradle to grave."
  • Maintain administrative files.
  • Document and maintain EHS data, logs, and records.
  • Prepare reports in accordance with state and federal laws, Koa Lani, and PMRF policies and procedures.
  • Audit facilities and operations in accordance with OSHA guidelines and monitor follow-up for deficiencies.
  • Research and furnish SDS to tenants, government, and employees as required.
  • Provide personal protective equipment and/or research and procure additional equipment as needed.
  • Member of the Spill Response Team.
  • Perform other duties as required by Supervisor.

Physical Elements/Environment

  • Periodical exposure to hazardous material.
  • Lifting, Pushing/Pulling: 50+ lbs.
  • Work positions: walking, standing, sitting.
  • Customer contact, Extended workday, Confined work area, Office laboratory, Field Assignment, and Increment Weather.

Qualifications

  • At least one year experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety field.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Capable of operating a forklift.
  • Basic typing skills and ability to prepare typewritten documents.
  • PC skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • AS Degree or equivalent through fundamental certificates in the Environmental, Health and Safety field.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Operations Level II. Certificate: OSHA 10 Hour General Industry and OSHA 10 Hour Construction Industry, EPA Environmental Education (Desired).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
