About the role

Spectrum is seeking a Safety Specialist to implement and maintain environmental, health and safety programs, reinforcing our commitment to operational excellence and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate safety and environmental compliance messages to all levels, providing technical support to front-line leadership and employees
  • Aid in performing program audits to enhance safety and environmental performance through collaborative efforts
  • Investigate incidents and non-compliance events, compile accident data and support corrective action initiatives
  • Collect and submit data to meet environmental permit and reporting requirements, liaising with regulatory agencies as necessary
  • Participate in or facilitate safety committee meetings and coordinate safety and environmental awareness events
  • Identify operational risks and propose preventive measures to control or eliminate occupational disease and injury
  • Maintain safety and environmental records, ensuring adherence to regulations and supporting program deployment

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 2+ years of safety, environmental or equivalent experience
  • Skills: Ability to use personal computer and software applications, work independently and collaboratively with all levels of employees, determine incident root causes and recommend preventive actions, knowledge of OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations, knowledge of safety and environmental program management methods, knowledge of safety and environmental auditing, incident investigation and reporting, knowledge of Microsoft Office products, knowledge of Field Operations and Field Engineering job duties
  • Licenses: Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's degree in safety, health, environmental or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 2+ years of industry experience
  • Skills: Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations, first aid/CPR/AED facilitator certification
