About the role

P&S Transportation is a rapidly growing flatbed trucking operation committed to hiring top talent in logistics and transportation. The Safety Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and handle all roadside inspection reports.
• Monitor and handle all citations received from active drivers.
• Monitor and handle all DVIR entered from drivers on Samsara.
• Work with asset management on cab card transfers between all entities.
• Counsel drivers and inspect equipment during pre-trip walk arounds.
• Work with Director of Safety on all DataQ submissions.
• Run and work reports on Rair for all inspection / CSA related items.
• Auditing of Hours of Service violations in addition to monitoring Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Running reports to help supervisors better determine which drivers are at higher risk to be scrutinized during Safety audits.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree from an accredited college or university (highly preferred)
• Microsoft Office 365 knowledge including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must work well in a team atmosphere and perform well in a fast pace environment
• High School Diploma/GED

• Must have good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with trainees, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone
• Must be team-oriented and must have good organizational skills
• Must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays
