About the role

Responsibilities
- Works under the direction of the Safety & Security Administrator to develop and administer safety and health programs.
- Responds to emergency alarms and reports issues regarding improper or unethical conduct, violations of laws, regulations, or program requirements.
- Provides investigative reports, daily reports, and basic reports of accomplishments and tasks completed.
- Observes and reports on unwanted behaviors or criminal activity, articulating accurate descriptions and reporting to the Safety & Security Administrator.
- Maintains a positive, professional environment in compliance with FHC standards and laws.
- Communicates and implements company policies and procedures.
- Supports accident investigation needs and resolves issues.
- Communicates with law enforcement and other personnel to relay information to the Safety & Security Administrator.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting as a safety professional.
- Extensive knowledge of Safety & Health laws, regulations, and standards.
- Team-oriented and creative problem solver with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through.
- Demonstrated track record for safety performance improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong systems orientation and ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Out-of-the-box thinking and adaptability to new processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with an Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Able to lift, carry, or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, and crouch regularly.
- Able to travel to all offices as needed.
Qualifications
- Physical abilities to walk continuously during a ten-hour shift, with normal breaks.
- Knowledge of local ordinances related to quality of life, including public intoxication, public urination, open container, loitering, trespassing, panhandling, and other similar incidents.
- Ability to pick up trash, such as newspapers, bottles, cans, and other small debris, and notify the manager of spills and large debris or areas needing attention.
- Ability to remove litter, cigarette butts, and other debris from sidewalks and alleys.
- Ability to identify and report safety and quality concerns immediately to the Safety Administrator and/or respective Manager.
- Ability to complete tasks assigned by the Safety Administrator and/or executive staff.
- Ability to investigate problems in the facility concerning patients, visitors, or staff and resolve issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Computer abilities: word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Travel to all offices as needed.
