Nature of Work
Aid in the administration of project safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Perform tasks including overseeing projects, conducting inspections, demonstrating safety equipment, identifying hazards, reviewing safety specifications, investigating accidents, and compiling reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee projects in various stages of construction, and develop and maintain databases for accident reporting and trend analysis.
- Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction areas.
- Physically demonstrate the proper use of safety equipment to field teams.
- Identify, document, and recommend resolutions for hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections are made.
- Review and revise safety specifications and procedures in accordance with departmental policy and OSHA regulations.
- Investigate personal injury and property damage accidents, analyze reports for trends, and make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
- Conduct routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of company facilities, conduct air sampling tests, and issue entry permits as necessary.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record that allows operation of company vehicles.
- Exercise initiative or perform additional duties as directed to meet the needs of the organization.

Education
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience.
- May require specific certifications depending on the project, such as OSHA 500, OSHA 30 Hr, CHST, EM-385.
Experience
- One year of related work experience preferred.
- Other work-related experiences such as military, public service, or on-the-job training programs may meet this requirement as determined by local management.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Normal office environment with periods of time spent on construction sites and occupied customer facilities.
- Frequent activities: sitting, viewing, and typing on a computer screen.
- Occasional activities: standing, walking long distances, bending, reaching above shoulder, climbing ladders/scaffolding, and in/out of ditches/trenches.
- This position may be required to use a ladder and work at tall heights (e.g., roof tops, access ladders, scissor-lifts, scaffolding).
- Safety-sensitive position requiring extreme focus and attention to safety hazards and protocols.
