Responsibilities
- Review, develop, and prepare responses to NAF and MAJCOM taskings in accordance with FSAO guidance.
- Attend safety meetings, conferences, working groups, and symposiums; coordinate required government decisions with appropriate leadership.
- Create command-level safety briefings and staff packages.
- Prepare reports, memorandums, letters, forms, presentations, and other documents using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Answer office phones, provide information, and direct calls as appropriate.
- Maintain branch calendars, including appointments, leave, travel, and other scheduling requirements.
- Manage classified and unclassified emails, task management systems, and ensure responses are properly staffed and formatted before leadership release.
- Oversee implementation of mishap prevention programs in accordance with current Department of the Air Force and Department of Defense safety regulations.
- Support the investigation and reporting of safety events in accordance with applicable Air Force safety investigation guidance.
- Develop and implement proactive aviation safety programs for operational and training environments.
- Provide technical and administrative support to safety program leadership.
- Operate standard office equipment and collaboration tools, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, email, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Maintain electronic files for assigned tasks.
- Create and maintain continuity folders containing procedures, templates, forms, points of contact, and supporting documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as one of the following: Pilot, Combat Systems Officer (CSO), Air Battle Manager (ABM), Remote Pilot, or Wing-level or higher staff experience.
- At least 2 years of Wing-level or higher staff experience.
- Successful completion of a recognized Flight Safety Officer training program, such as: Aviation Safety Program Management (ASPM) and Aircraft Mishap Investigation Course (AMIC), ACC Flight Safety Program Management Course and AMIC, Air Reserve Component Chief of Safety Course (ARCCOS) and AMIC, Flight Safety Officer Course (WCIP05C) with 2 years of Flight Safety Officer experience, Navy Aviation Safety Officer and Aviation Safety Management Course, Army Mishap Investigation Course and Aviation Safety Manager Course, or Air Force Mishap Investigation Course and Aviation Safety Manager Course.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
