About the role
The Safety Shower Maintenance Technician position requires a high percentage of maintenance time testing, cleaning, and maintaining safety showers and eyewash stations. The work is performed both inside and outside the facility, in critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on facility equipment with a professional and safe approach.
- Provide professional feedback to update preventative maintenance procedures.
- Maintain tools and order supplies as required for installation and repairs.
- Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of chemicals.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and complete documentation in a timely manner.
- Actively participate in emergency response procedures, technical, and safety training programs.
Requirements
- Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
- Prior knowledge of working within a cleanroom environment is a plus.
- Skilled and physically able to operate hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry loads, and operate required equipment.
- Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc., and on roofs of buildings.
- Completion of written documentation is required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or state equivalent required.
- Prior experience maintaining a high tech or cleanroom environment is highly desirable.
- Good interpersonal and a positive team attitude.
- Familiarity with computers and operations and office automation applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Oregon or other driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Skills
