Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Safety, Security and Transportation department to provide maximum safety and security for students, staff, center property, and the surrounding community.
  • Evaluates staff performance and provides staff training; implements departmental personnel changes as approved by the Center Director.
  • Develops and monitors staff schedules for 24-hour, 7-day-a-week coverage.
  • Develops and maintains the Center Safety Plan, Emergency and Disaster Plan (including weather-related Evacuation Plan), and conducts the yearly risk assessment survey.
  • Establishes and communicates safety, security, and fire prevention policies with pertinent center and DOL regulations to students and staff.
  • Serves as the center’s representative and maintains effective liaison with law enforcement agencies in the community.
  • Monitors all center facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA Standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police science, or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of work-related experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
  • Due to the nature of the duties involved, this role is classified as safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment drug/alcohol testing consistent with state law and organizational policy.

Pay

Annual salary: $55,000 - $68,000
