Safety & Security Officer

Hourly Rate: $19.20. Regular full-time position on the 2nd shift; must be available weekends and holidays.

About the role

As a Safety & Security Officer at Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW), you will assist in providing our Owners and guests with memorable vacation experiences in a supportive, friendly, and beautiful work environment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property by foot or vehicle using specified equipment (e.g., flashlight, high-visibility jacket).
• Administer first aid/CPR to Owners, guests, or associates as required.
• Ensure Owner/guest and meeting rooms are secure and assist with room access.
• Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTV), perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems.
• Respond to the scene of Owner/guest or associate accidents and determine if emergency aid is required.
• Defuse Owner/guest or associate disturbances/altercations following company policies and procedures.
• Handle lost and found items, logging and returning them appropriately.
• Utilize computer systems, prepare and review written documents accurately and completely, and answer phones using proper telephone etiquette.
• Oversee OSHA and fire life safety (FLS) violations to mitigate risks throughout the property.
• Welcome and greet guests, anticipate and address their needs, and interact professionally with colleagues and guests.
• Contribute to team goals while following company policies and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Available to work various shifts, holidays, and both weekend days.
• Able to reach overhead and below the knees, perform bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, and stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Position may require background and drug screening contingent on company policy and legal requirements.
