Safety Professional (Short Term)

Medcor Safety, a subsidiary of Medcor, is a Safety Services company serving the Construction and General Industry.

About the role

The Safety Professional will identify safety hazards and communicate with site crews and management to mitigate these hazards. The successful candidate must be a team player, good communicator, and knowledgeable of Federal, State, Local, General Contractor, and Owner Requirements governing the project.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive professional relationships while working closely with field personnel, all levels of management, and outside agencies during all phases of construction.
• Coordinate and conduct audits of all crews to identify areas for improvement of unsafe work conditions and practices; recognize safe work practices.
• Document and communicate site audit information.
• Audit training records of all field personnel.
• Implement all federal, local, and site programs, policies, and procedures.
• Receive, review, and participate in the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports.
• Participate in the development of Site-Specific Safety Plans and kick-off/safety meetings.
• Review client/owner-specific requirements and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Current CPR / First Aid Card (Required)
• OSHA 30 Hour Construction (Required)
• CHST or OSHA 500 (Preferred)
• Relevant safety experience
• Ability to perform basic word processing and generate spreadsheets
• Ability to access and use the Internet and email

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, bend, squat, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms.
• Must be able to talk, hear, and see.
• Occasionally required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
• Specific abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust and focus.

Pay

$35.00 - $40.00/hour

Schedule

• Anticipated Start Date: Mid-to-Late July
• Anticipated Duration: 2-3 Months
• Anticipated Hours/Week: 50 - 60 (Nightshift)
