Role Overview

The Safety Professional oversees Construction Project Safety, Health (S&H), and Risk Management, developing and implementing site-specific safety plans and leading operational risk initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with contractors and owners on site conditions and non-compliance notices
  • Participate in meetings to advise on mitigation plans and training
  • Develop Accident Prevention Programs
  • Manage safety budgets and permits
  • Lead incident investigations

Knowledge & Skills

  • Extensive understanding of safety and health standards (OSHA, DOT)
  • Accident investigation expertise
  • Safety management systems knowledge (ANSI-Z10, OHSAS 18001, ISO 31000)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6+ years experience with a high school diploma; additional education preferred
  • Experience in electrical, construction, industrial, federal, or commercial safety required
  • Certifications such as OSHA 500/502 and pursuit of CSP, ASP, or CHST desirable

  • Ability to analyze complex information
  • Communicate effectively
  • Operate computer and office equipment
  • Capable of prolonged computer use, sitting, reaching, and fine motor tasks
