Safety Officer

About the role

Piping Technology Company is a pipeline contracting firm dedicated to delivering high-quality construction, maintenance, and fabrication services while maintaining the highest standards of safety, integrity, and environmental responsibility. The position involves implementing and overseeing safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety excellence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, develop, implement, and oversee company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, PHSMA, FERC, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations
• Lead safety training initiatives, including onboarding and ongoing employee education
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations to identify risks and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with project managers and field superintendents to promote safe work practices
• Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
• Serve as one of the primary points of contact for all safety-related matters
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of safety management experience, preferably in pipeline construction or related field
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, PHMSA, DOT, FERC, and other applicable governing regulations
• Proven leadership ability and experience managing safety teams and programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft applications
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred)
• Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
• Experience working in pipeline or energy sector environments
