Safety Observer (NY)

About the role

LaBella Associates is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Safety Observer to join our Program Management division for various construction and civil projects throughout New York State. The Safety Observer will monitor and promote safety protocols on-site, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster a culture of safety awareness among team members. The successful candidate will work closely with our client's management and labor teams to identify safety concerns and implement corrective actions to promote a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on project sites
• Observe and report on compliance with safety policies and procedures
• Create and deliver safety training sessions as necessary
• Participate in safety meetings and briefings
• Document safety incidents and prepare reports
• Collaborate with project teams to address safety issues proactively

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in safety observation or related field in the construction industry
• OSHA 30-hour Construction certificate
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed

Pay

Salary Range: $85,000–$125,000 per year. The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
