A well-established, industry-leading technical services organization is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and enhance company-wide safety initiatives across multiple locations and active job sites. This role is ideal for a safety professional who is passionate about building a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing impactful training programs that support operational excellence.

Position Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety programs, policies, and training initiatives across the organization. This individual will work closely with operations leadership, project teams, field personnel, and human resources to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, maintain safe work environments, and foster a culture of accountability and safety awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA requirements and industry-specific standards.
  • Oversee safety performance across multiple project sites and operational locations.
  • Conduct regular job site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; develop recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and regulatory documentation.
  • Design, coordinate, and facilitate safety training programs for field and office personnel.
  • Develop educational materials covering safe work practices, equipment operation, emergency response procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements based on operational needs and industry trends.
  • Track employee certifications, training completion, and compliance requirements through HRIS and other management systems.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing development of employees regarding safety expectations and best practices.
  • Manage the workers' compensation process, including reporting, documentation, claim coordination, and resolution.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a resource for leadership regarding safety-related regulations and compliance matters.
  • Partner with operational leaders, project managers, field personnel, and clients to address safety concerns and implement best practices.
  • Participate in project planning and operational reviews to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, leadership engagement, and employee participation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, occupational health and safety, training coordination, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance.
  • Experience conducting site audits, safety inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital training/documentation systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight travel approximately 45–55% of the time.

Preferred

  • OSHA 501 and/or OSHA 510 certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional) certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, Business, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within construction, mechanical services, industrial services, HVAC, engineering, or related technical industries.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director.

Location

Flexible based on business needs, with regular travel to regional offices and active project sites throughout the service area.
