Safety Engineer
About the role
This position will provide leadership and oversight for all domestic environmental, health, and safety functions across locations, working in close partnership with site management at each location.
Responsibilities
- Develop and drive company-wide EHS strategies that support operational, regulatory compliance, and a strong culture of safety across multiple locations.
- Partner closely with site leadership to establish clear standards, accountability, and consistent execution of EHS programs, including compliance initiatives, industrial hygiene, contractor safety, emergency response, environmental programs, and risk reduction efforts.
- Lead audits and inspections, investigate incidents and near-misses, drive root cause and corrective actions, manage regulatory agency interactions, and promote employee engagement through proactive safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, industrial management, or a related field is required, along with 7+ years’ experience in EHS within a manufacturing environment, including multi-site leadership.
Candidates should have demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, experience supporting agency inspections, and implementing corrective actions. Union environment experience a plus.
