Safety Coordinator - Texas Operations
About the role
IES Residential is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead and enhance safety culture across Texas and surrounding markets. This role involves proactive risk identification, engaging safety trainings, and collaborating with leadership to foster a safety-first mindset.
Responsibilities
- Lead job site safety inspections and identify risks
- Partner with leadership to build and reinforce a safety-first culture
- Deliver safety trainings and conduct impactful toolbox talks
- Investigate incidents and develop solutions to prevent future risks
- Serve as the go-to safety expert for both field teams and management
- Communicate safety policies clearly and effectively across all levels
- Maintain compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices
- Assist with safety documentation, reporting, and corrective action follow-up
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 5+ years of safety experience (construction experience preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance
- OSHA 500 Certification (preferred)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to influence, lead, and collaborate across teams
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required
- Bonus points for Residential or commercial construction industry experience, First Aid/CPR Instructor certification, and experience conducting safety training and incident investigations
Location & Travel
Home Base: San Antonio, TX
Regional Travel: Travel throughout Texas and surrounding areas as needed
Travel Requirement: Approximately 50-75%
Physical Requirements
- Walk and inspect job sites for extended periods
- Climb, bend, kneel, and navigate active construction environments
- Lift up to 25-50 lbs occasionally
- Wear required PPE at all times on job sites
- Maintain strong visual and hearing awareness for hazard recognition
