About the role

IES Residential is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead and enhance safety culture across operations in Austin, Texas and surrounding areas. This role involves proactive risk identification, engaging safety trainings, and collaborating with leadership to foster a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead job site safety inspections and identify risks
  • Partner with leadership to build and reinforce a safety-first culture
  • Deliver engaging safety trainings and lead impactful toolbox talks
  • Investigate incidents and drive solutions to prevent future risks
  • Serve as the go-to safety expert for both field teams and management
  • Communicate safety policies clearly and effectively across all levels
  • Maintain compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices
  • Absorb and report safety documentation, corrective action follow-up
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of safety experience (construction experience preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance
  • OSHA 500 Certification (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to influence, lead, and collaborate across teams
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required
  • Bonus points for residential or commercial construction industry experience, First Aid/CPR Instructor certification, and experience conducting safety training and incident investigations

Location & Travel

Home Base: Austin, TX
Regional Travel: Travel throughout Texas and surrounding areas as needed
Travel Requirement: Approximately 50-75%

Physical Requirements

  • Walk and inspect job sites for extended periods
  • Climb, bend, kneel, and navigate active construction environments
  • Lift up to 25-50 lbs occasionally
  • Wear required PPE at all times on job sites
  • Maintain strong visual and hearing awareness for hazard recognition
