About the role
Turner Specialty Services, LLC is seeking a Site Safety Coordinator for work in the Plaquemine, LA area. This position oversees safety, health, and environmental programs at the site level.
Responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and regulations including OSHA, state, federal, company, and client policies and procedures.
- Conduct surveys, audits, investigations, and gather information and data as required.
- Initiate and maintain safety awareness programs.
- Maintain records, reports, and documents that may be required to meet corporate and/or regulatory requirements.
- Analyze safety problems and recommend solutions.
- Perform routine inspections, monitoring, and analysis of work areas.
- Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings.
- Assist in evaluating personnel for competency prior to designation as "Competent Persons."
- Teach specific classes within their experience and qualifications such as Hole Watch, Fire Watch, Spotter Flagger Training, etc.
Requirements
- Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience.
- Valid drivers license.
- TWIC card.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Pass a background check.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
- Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
- Not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Skills

Physical Involvement

Pay
Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
