Safety Coordinator

About the role

Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator for our Mission Critical projects. This position will work directly with other project-level functional leads to address safety and health requirements on the jobsite. The Data Center Safety Coordinator supports the implementation and enforcement of Hunt Electric's safety program on data center construction projects, working closely with the project safety team, field supervision, and craft employees to promote a safe work environment, ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and assist with daily safety activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety assessments and inspections of projects under construction to monitor and ensure compliance with safety and health requirements, including contractual commitments, laws, regulations, and the project’s site-specific environmental, safety, and health plans.
• Promote and improve the company’s “Safety leading measures.”
• Collaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement environmental, safety, and security policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Assist the Safety & Risk Manager in the development of Method of Procedure (MOP) and critical activity plans.
• Apply knowledge of injury prevention, compliance, and risk reduction techniques.
• Conduct investigations into employee or subcontractor injuries, motor vehicle accidents, spills, discharges, theft, vandalism, and property damages; develop written reports including root cause analysis.
• Conduct safety and compliance training for supervisors and field employees as directed.
• Lead and direct in emergency events.
• Provide comprehensive written reports to document site visits, activities, and incidents.
• Demonstrate a goal-oriented mindset for continual growth with a positive “Can-Do” attitude.
• Actively contribute to a positive team environment.
• Maintain dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
• Perform other duties or work at other locations as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

• 3+ years of safety experience in a construction setting (preferred).
• Electrical trade experience (preferred).
• OSHA 30 construction certification (required).
• Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations as applied to construction and general industry.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in an active commercial construction environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with possible Saturdays from 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
