Full-TimePosition Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support safety operations on large commercial construction projects in the Austin area. This position plays a key role in enforcing site-specific safety procedures, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring full compliance with OSHA and project safety requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of project-specific safety plans in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
- Conduct routine job-site safety inspections and promptly address any hazards or unsafe behaviors.
- Monitor high-risk activities including electrical, mechanical, and equipment installations to ensure safe work practices.
- Lead daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and task-specific safety meetings.
- Ensure all safety practices align with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, NFPA 70E, and client-specific protocols.
- Support incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and help develop corrective action plans.
- Maintain safety records including JHAs, inspection reports, permits, and injury logs.
- Collaborate with the project team to review upcoming tasks, lift plans, and methods of procedure (MOPs) to identify potential risks.
- Auxiliary with client or regulatory safety audits and walkthroughs.
- Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and recognizing safe behaviors.
- Stay informed on evolving safety best practices and technology relevant to mission critical environments.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of safety experience in commercial construction; at least 1–2 years on data center or mission critical projects.
- Strong working knowledge of MEP systems, especially in live or high-voltage environments.
- OSHA 30 Certification required; additional certifications such as CHST, CSP, or equivalent are a plus.
- Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA 70E, ANSI standards, and local codes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence behavior and enforce standards effectively.
- Experience using digital safety tools or platforms (e.g., Procore, EHS software).
- CPR/First Aid and Fall Protection training preferred.
