About the role
Diversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced Site Safety Coordinator to support a data-center project in Sterling, VA. In this role you will drive a culture of safety, ensure compliance, and foster a proactive approach to workplace health and safety on a large-scale, high-visibility project.
Responsibilities
- Champion a proactive safety culture by preparing and enforcing health and safety policies.
- Design and implement safety programs, plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Monitor safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates.
- Identify risks early, recommend solutions, and ensure preventive measures are in place.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to keep teams engaged and aligned.
- Maintain regular on-site presence, participate in project meetings, and provide proactive safety guidance.
- Verify that all work follows approved manuals, internal procedures, and contract requirements.
- Keep accurate logs of inspections, reports, and safety correspondence.
- Supervise subcontractors and contractors to ensure work meets EHS requirements.
- Conduct investigations for accidents, incidents, and near misses; follow through on corrective actions.
- Enforce proper use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures at all times.
- Support additional safety initiatives and requirements as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on construction safety experience.
- OSHA 30 & 510 certification (required).
- First Aid / CPR certification (required).
- NFPA 70E certification (required).
- LOTO, Arc Flash, and Bloodborne Pathogens training (required).
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, regulations, and safety programs.
- Ability to produce clear reports, develop procedures, and implement effective safety solutions.
- Excellent hazard recognition, data analysis, and risk assessment skills.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
- Professional on-site presence and ability to lead teams through incidents or emergencies with composure.
