Safety Coordinator

About the role

The Company Is Currently Seeking An Experienced Safety Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Works with the project management team to evaluate and drive the work from a safety-focused approach;
• Regularly monitors employees for safe work practices, advising and correcting work methods when needed;
• Aids in the preparation of Construction project safety plan;
• Conducts daily safety briefings, project safety audits and inspections, including required reports and record-keeping;
• Conducts, or coordinates as needed, all project Safety training onsite, including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lead training and lockout / tag-out;
• Tracks all training records, and maintains updated list of certifications held by personnel onsite to ensure proper training is received in advance;
• Conducts Industrial Hygiene assessments of work processes and employees;
• Led accident/incident investigations in a timely manner and oversees report development.

Qualifications/Requirements

• 3+ years of construction experience, bridge or marine work preferred.
• Four year Degree in Safety, Safety Management or Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or experience equivalent.
• Knowledge of FRA, DOT and OSHA regulations.
• OSHA instructor, CPR / First-Aid trained, preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to thrive in a changing environment.
• Self-driven and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work on active construction site outdoors in a variety of climates.

Skills

• Construction experience.
• Knowledge of FRA, DOT and OSHA regulations.
• OSHA instructor, CPR / First-Aid trained.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
